Ah Win! The Trinbago LoterÍa Game

Ah Win! The Trinbago Lotería Game is a game of chance inspired by the centuries old game Lotería, but with a Trinidad and Tobago twist. Gameplay is very similar to Bingo, but instead of using numbered balls, it is played with a deck of 55 illustrated cards.

Each numbered card features its own character based on random aspects of Trinbago culture. Instead of a grid of numbers, the Ah Win! Game tables each have a 4×4 grid of images instead of numbers.

Gameplay

  1. Start by laying out all the game tables face down for players to randomly choose. The player who picks the table with the lowest number will be the chantwell for the first round. The chantwell determines what pattern wins the round as well as whether cards would be called by their numbers, riddles, or names.
  2. The chantwell then shuffles to deck, draws a card, one-by-one, and calls it aloud.
  3. Players then mark off the corresponding tiles on their tables by placing one of the included game tokens on the matching tile.
  4. If the chantwell draws the Mr. Wolf card, give their best howl to mark the start of Bacchanal Time. During Bacchanal Time, the chantwell can randomly call cards by either their number, name or riddle until the end of the round.

Winning

The first player to complete the chosen pattern (such as a line, four corners, or the entire board) shouts “Ah Win!” to win the round.
